League of Legends players give back

~ by Mike Heston

Andy "Reginald" Dinh, the mid laner for Team Solo Mid(TSM), announced he would donate $100 (usd) for every in game death he had in todays match-ups to the victims of the Boston bombings.

TSM is the number one seed in season 3's League of Legends spring tournament and fan favorite to win the fifty thousand dollar grand prize. Even as one of the top players in North America Reginald acquired 14 deaths in his three game match against team Vulcun but ultimately winning helping his team stay on top in the NA scene, getting them into the finals and one step closer to the grand prize.

While this act of charity is noteworthy from a single pro gamer it is not the only case of
League pros donating to those in need. The team Invictus Gaming recently donated all of their
prize money from the Chinese Gigabyte StarsWar League tournament (approximately $20,400) to the Sichuan relief effort aiding those affected by the earthquake that hit rural South-Western China.
