You have purchased that game your kid have been wishing for all year. It is wrapped and ready for the big day and big reveal. You are looking forward to seeing the delight and glee in their face when they tear off the wrapping and reveal the long yearned for prize.
But then what?
If you are giving a video game for Christmas or Hanukah be ready to pick up the controller and play alongside your child. You don't even have to pick up the controller - just make sure you make time to sit there with your kid while they play. We have been saying this for a long time.

It is awesome that they are excited about games but as parents we can often worry about too much time playing games or even game Addiction. Heck, when we were kids our parents told us to "Go outside and play!" What's a parent to do?
